Jodhamal hosts Sahodaya Inter-School Swimming Competition

JAMMU, Oct 9: Jodhamal Public School hosted a two-day Inter-School Swimming Competition under the aegis of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex. This two-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 14 schools and a total of 127 students competing across under 14 and 17 categories. The competition was a resounding success, displaying beautiful athleticism and sportsmanship as budding swimmers dove into the inviting water of Aqua-Cube at Jodhamal Public School Jammu, making their way through the length of the pool. There were many breathtaking moments as the swimmers from across all CBSE School of Jammu competed for the coveted titles. The echo of clappers and splashes throughout the swimming pool further excited the swimmers and boosted their spirits.
The two days of this Sahodaya Mega Event were memorable days with actions packed line-up of swimming events. On the Inaugural Day, the event was graced by the Chief Guest Ved Prakash, JKAS, Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, the Guest of Honour Dr Vikesh Kour, Principal, Doon International School and President, Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex, and the Special Guest Rajesh Sambyal, Physical Education Master, DYSSO, Gandhi Nagar.
The Valedictory Ceremony of the event was honoured by the gracious presence of the Chief Guest Ramandeep Singh Soodan, President, Swimming Association, J&K and the Special Guest Bharat Kumar Sharma, Secretary General, Swimming Association, J&K.
The participants competed in the Inter-School aquatic gala in all swimming styles including backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly stroke. The relay and medley relay events gathered everyone's attention and had nail-biting finishes. All students from the participating Schools gave fantastic performances with many reaching the finals.
The highly anticipated Swimming Meet came to a thrilling conclusion, witnessing an array of remarkable performances highlighting exceptional talent and sportsmanship of all participants. Jodhamal Public School, with an impressive tally of 12 Gold Medals, 13 Silver Medals, and 4 Bronze Medals, was adjudged the Overall Champion of the Competition. The consistent performances of Jodhamal Students across multiple disciplines set them apart and earned them the top spot of the tournament. Participants from Jodhamal School who brought laurels are: Anahita, Advait, Hitanshi Yadav, Pragnay Sharma, Aayansh Gupta, Vivaan Yadav, Arindam received Gold Medals in Under 14 category, while Kartikaye Choudhary, Md Ibrahim, Tanisha Jaggi, Prabhdeep Singh, Prabhmeet Singh, Sohum Pathania, Lavanya Katoch, Shereen Mahajan, Arshiya Malhotra, Tanung Kour and Vihan Goel won Gold Medals in Under 17 category. The following students bagged the Silver Medals: Md Ibrahim, Shereen Mahajan, Arshiya Malhotra, Aayansh Gupta, Hitanshi Yadav, Vivaan Yadav, Anahita, Pragnay Sharma, Rabani, Avnoor Kour, Shranya Sharma, Riyaan Choudhary, Advait Sharma, Rihan Gupta and Namah whereas Advait Sharma, Vihan Goel, Arshiya Malhotra and Sohum Pathania won Bronze Medals.
Harpreet Bhalla, Physical Education Teacher and Davinder Singh Jamwal, Swimming Coach, Police Line acted as the overall observers and jury for the entire Competition. The whole show was spearheaded under the guidance and mentorship of the School's swimming coach Ms Pooja Bassan and her team of all sports teachers.
The Trustee of the School, Nandan Kuthiala, the Director Arti Kuthiala, Principal, Girish Kumar and Vice Principal, Ms Amita Arora congratulated the winners, and applauded all the swimmers for displaying genuine spirit of sportsmanship. They especially commended the talented swimmers for their outstanding performances. Additionally, the School thanked the esteemed jury for their valuable contributions in overseeing the smooth conduct and fair judgement, ensuring the success of the event.
