Nav Adarsh Hr Sec School hosts thrilling Inter-House Chess Championship

JAMMU, Oct 9: Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School successfully hosted an exciting Inter House Chess Championship, showcasing the tactical brilliance and competitive spirit of its students. The event was divided into two categories: Junior (Class 6th to 8th) and Senior (Class 9th to 12th). The competition saw intense matches in both categories, with young minds battling it out on the chessboard.
Praveen Singh, Physical Education Master (P.E.M) from the District Youth Services and Sports Department, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Lalita Katal, Chairperson of Nav Adarsh Hr. Sec. School, presided over the event.
The Junior category witnessed thrilling matches and after three challenging rounds, Nikhil emerged as the Gold medalist by defeating his final opponent. Vinayak secured the Silver medal, while Amish and Naman shared the Bronze.
In the Senior category, the final round was equally gripping. Ishant claimed the Gold medal, showcasing exceptional skill. Kanav took home the Silver and Nittin along with Bhanu earned the Bronze.
Chief Guest Praveen Singh praised the young talents, saying, "The enthusiasm and strategic thinking displayed by these students is commendable. Chess is not only a game of intelligence but also teaches important life lessons about patience and decision-making. I congratulate all the participants and encourage them to continue honing their skills."
Chairperson Lalita Katal added, "It is heartening to see the students participating with such passion and dedication. At Nav Adarsh, we strive to provide a platform for all-round development, and events like these help in nurturing critical thinking and sportsmanship. My best wishes to all the participants for their future endeavors."
The event concluded with the distribution of medals to the winners and a round of applause for all participants, who were encouraged to keep pushing their limits both on and off the chessboard.
