CBC's three day outreach programme on Mission Life continues in Kargil

KARGIL, Oct 9: The three day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme being organised in Kargil by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, continued on Wednesday here at the Syed Mehdi Memorial Auditorium. The objective of the programme is to raise awareness on sustainable development, cleanliness, balanced nutrition and new government initiatives under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
Resource persons from the departments of Agriculture and Horticulture provided comprehensive information on organic farming, technology-driven agricultural advancements, and available government schemes for incentivization and employment generation. They encouraged participants to explore these opportunities for community development.
Speakers from the Wildlife, Education, Employment and Counselling departments also shared detailed insights on various government initiatives aimed at enhancing livelihoods and protecting the environment.
A documentary showcasing the rich biodiversity of the Ladakh region was also screened for the participants.
Ghulam Abass, Director CBC J&K & Ladakh region, emphasized CBC's role in conducting outreach programmes across Ladakh region with a focus on reaching the remotest areas to ensure an informed and empowered citizenry.
A theme based quiz competition was also held during the day with winners receiving mementos and commendation certificates. The cultural troupes empanelled with CBC J&K presented thematic skits and musical performances providing wholesome infotainment to the audience.
The event saw an enthusiastic participation from students, resource persons and local residents on second consecutive day as well.
Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Anantnag, delivered the welcome address, while Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer, CBC Srinagar presented vote of thanks concluding the day's proceedings.
It was informed that on Thursday - the concluding day, the outreach programme will further engage the participants with discussions on themes like Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and the New Criminal Laws.
