Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 9: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday said that the upcoming government in J&K must not discriminate against the Jammu region like the successive governments in the past.
In a statement issued to media persons, he said that BJP after giving a phenomenal performance in the Assembly elections, which is its all time best with 29 seats is ready to take on the constructive role of opposition making it certain that government's action remain free from any kind of prejudice against Jammu region or its people. He said that peace and prosperity in J&K have been achieved by the BJP Government-led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by visionary steps and therefore it becomes imperative that the new government in J&K should continue to toe the same line as the centre is endorsing to ensure that J&K keeps moving on path of progress and peace. He said that it would be advisable for the new chief minister of the region to run the government amicably with the central dispensation as path of conflict will lead the UT to nowhere. "The hard earned peace, prosperity and progress in J&K are all due to PM Modi's relentless efforts and it is in no way right to undo the good work of the centre by doing things contrary to the aforementioned. Even the peaceful elections that took place in J&K are due to success of Modi Government's Kashmir policy therefore it would lead to a big blunder if the upcoming government will change its stance and stop toeing the line of action followed by PM Modi", he said adding that warm ties between J&K Government and the centre is the need of the hour and toeing any other line can prove disastrous as in the past when things had gone out of control.
