Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 9: A "Convergence" meeting was convened at the Regional Provident Fund Office (EPFO) Jammu under the leadership of Rizwan Uddin, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I (RPFC-I), to discuss and coordinate efforts aimed at improving social security for eligible members and their families in the Jammu region. The meeting brought together key officials from different verticals of the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoL&E), fostering collaborative strategies to ensure broader coverage and better compliance. The meeting was attended by Dr. Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director (IC) DTNBWED, RO Jammu; Umesh Hiralal Borkar, RPFC-II, RO Jammu; Dushyant Pande, Deputy Director, ESIC, RO Jammu; Jayanta Prasad Belena, AWC, Central, Jammu; and Vivek Katal, Assistant, ESIC, RO Jammu.
During the discussions, Rizwan Uddin emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to effectively conduct the Nidhi Apke Nikat 2.0 program, scheduled for October 2024. He urged all stakeholders to actively participate in the program, which aims to enhance communication, coverage, and compliance, bringing EPFO services closer to the public.
The benefits of such convergence meetings have already been evident, as highlighted by the successful collaboration between ESIC and EPFO in processing Joint Declaration forms for two employees, Usha Devi and Ankur Mehra, with the assistance of Vivek Katal from ESIC.
Looking ahead, all departments involved committed to expanding coverage to ensure compliance among non-complying establishments and large defaulting organizations. The focus remains on providing better service delivery to all stakeholders, especially in under-served districts of Jammu.
