10/11/2024 10:12:19 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: In a commendable effort to promote environmental conservation and enhance community well-being, two major initiatives were launched today in Jammu. A plantation drive involving students from Government Girls Higher Secondary School and a cleanliness drive at the New Power House at Jammu Airport were the highlights of the day.
The plantation drive, conducted during an educational visit, saw enthusiastic participation from students and teachers of Government Girls Higher Secondary School. Held within the airport premises, the initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and encourage the younger generation to take responsibility for nature. A variety of saplings were planted by the students, contributing to the increase in green cover and fostering a sense of environmental stewardship.
Simultaneously, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) organized a cleanliness drive at the New Power House at Jammu Airport. This initiative was part of the "Special Campaign 4.0," an extension of the national Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission). AAI and CISF teams worked together to clean the surroundings of the power house, removing waste and ensuring a hygienic, pollution-free environment.
Both initiatives underscored the collaborative efforts of various institutions in creating a cleaner, greener future. Airport Director Sanjeev Kumar Garg praised the efforts of all involved, stressing the importance of such drives in ensuring environmental sustainability and the well-being of the community. These efforts reflect a shared commitment to protecting the environment and promoting healthy living spaces for all.
