Jammu region's MLAs playing with fire by supporting NC: Kavinder
10/11/2024 10:29:11 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 11: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta said that MLAs from Jammu region are playing with fire by supporting the NC because their stand will go against the mandate given by the people in Jammu.
In a statement issued to media persons on Friday, the BJP stalwart leader said that independents and others should know the fact that extending support to NC leadership in government formation may prove suicidal for them as the people of Jammu have out-rightly rejected the Kashmir-oriented NC and has given monumental support to the nationalist BJP in Jammu region.
Kavinder advised those extending support to NC not to get swayed in this way for the sake of power because their Karambhoomi is Jammu and they would again need the support of Jammu people in the coming times. He said that betraying the electorate in Jammu for the sake of power is wrong principally; politically and ethically, therefore they should revisit their decision and think a hundred times before giving the final nod for becoming an ally of those rejected by the people of Duggarland.
He said that it is much better to sit in the opposition benches rather than supporting a party which has a history of discriminating against Jammu. He categorically asked the MLAs from Jammu region not belonging to BJP to refrain from giving support to NC as this could prove detrimental for the region and its people.
