APS celebrates successful Annual Sports Week 2024-25

Udhampur, Oct 11: Army Public School (APS) Dhar Road successfully conducted its much-anticipated Annual Sports Week for the academic year 2024-25. The event, which kicked off on 7th October and concluded on 10th October, was inaugurated by the school’s Principal, Dr. Jyoti Bedyal, with the ceremonial lighting of the torch.
The school organized various sports competitions for students across all grades, taking into account appropriate age categories. Popular events like the Relay Race, 400m and 200m Races, Tug of War, Tunnel Race, Obstacle Race, Hurdle Race, and Caterpillar Race brought out the competitive spirit in the participants. The entire school community took part with great enthusiasm and energy.
The closing ceremony, held on 11th October, was graced by the Chief Guest, the Chairman of APS Dhar Road. Alongside acknowledging the winners of sports events, the ceremony also honored several academic and extracurricular achievers. Trophies and medals were awarded to students excelling at both national and international levels.
Among the notable honors:
• Master Sujal Yadav was celebrated for securing the first position in the district-level board exams for class 10th.
• Mr. Dinesh Kumar was recognized with the prestigious AAWA Award of Excellence and as a Mentor for the Indian Army Quiz.
• Mr. Avadhesh Kumar received the Best Teacher Award for the year 2023-24.
• The school’s sports teachers, Mr. Sunil Kumar and Mrs. Ekta Rani, were appreciated for their contributions.
• Dr. Jyoti Bedyal, Principal of APS Dhar Road, was awarded the Best Principal Award in Northern Command.
The event was enriched with a variety of performances, including a welcome song, an impressive Karate demonstration, and an energetic dance performance by the young students. Dr. Bedyal, while presenting the school’s annual report, expressed her gratitude to the staff, students, and parents for their efforts. She emphasized the importance of holistic development in students and extended her heartfelt thanks for the success of the Annual Sports Week. The Chairman applauded the overall performance and growth of the school, marking the week as a tremendous success.
