Inauguration Ceremony of NCC Battalions in J&K, Ladakh

Jammu, Oct 21: Consequent to the Government of India, Ministry of Defence deciding to increase the vacancies for the National Cadet Corps, the Government Sanction for four New NCC Units has been accorded to the Union Territories of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh bringing new reason for cheer to the youth. The New Units are being raised at Udhampur, Kupwara & Kargil. The formal inauguration of the new units with the ceremonial handing over of the NCC Scroll is scheduled on 25 Oct 2024 at Udhampur. The preparations for the event are ongoing in full swing and officers, staff and cadets of the NCC Directorate, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh are not leaving any stone unturned to make it a grand success. This step will enable the joining of additional 13950 cadets in the Union Territories of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh into the premier youth engagement programme. These raisings come at a time when the Government of India is taking pro-active and focused measures to engage and empower the youth. Now more youth across the Union Territories will be able to participate in the numerous NCC activities and prepare themselves for the multitude of opportunities awaiting them in future. It is for the first time that an Air Sqadern NCC is being raised in Jammu & Kashmir. This will allow the youth to touch the sky with their expectation. The highlight will be the arrival of the first aircraft on the day of the inauguration.
