ASCOMS Hospital organizes basic neonatal resuscitation program

JAMMU, Oct 22: Continuing with its endeavor to conduct academic programmes, Department of Pediatrics ASCOMS Hospital in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics Jammu successfully conducted workshop on Neonatal resuscitation. The aim of this workshop is to train the medical and paramedical staff who are engaged in the birth of babies some of whom may need resuscitation at the time of birth.
This workshop was attended by over 30 participants from the department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, nursing college tutors, Medical officers and staff nurses. Dr Ravinder K Gupta Prof and Head, Department of Pediatrics was the course coordinator. He highlighted the importance of such programmes in equipping medical professionals with the necessary skills to deal with neonatal emergencies at the time of birth. He also appreciated the batch of participants who displayed a lot of enthusiasm during the course and performed exceedingly well in the performance evaluation at the end of the workshop. The team of instructors included Dr Vikas Mahajan Associate Professor ASCOMS, Dr Virender Singh bhau Senior Pediatrician and Neonatologist SMGS Hospital, Dr Sushil Sharma Assistant Professor ASCOMS, Dr Wajid Rana Assistant Professor ASCOMS.
These type of NRP activities are conducted under the supervision of state coordinators Dr Sajniv Digra and Dr Niraj Gupta
