CIK busts terror recruitment module
10/22/2024 10:40:12 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Oct 22: The Crime Investigation Department (CIK) conducted extensive searches across multiple districts, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama, successfully dismantling a recruitment module associated with the newly formed terrorist organization Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim (TLM), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This operation was carried out under the authority of a search warrant issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge designated under the NIA Act in relation to FIR No. 06/2023.
The investigation revealed that Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim was being orchestrated by a Pakistani terrorist handler known as @Baba Hamas. The organization has been attempting to radicalize local youth through various means, including social media, with the aim of recruiting them into terrorism.
During the searches at ten locations, law enforcement officials arrested several suspects and seized incriminating materials, including digital devices, mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards. Evidence suggests that this group has been involved in promoting terrorism and has previously claimed responsibility for incidents, such as fires in Panchayat Ghar in Pulwama and a remote village in Doda.
The ongoing investigation aims to dismantle the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir by identifying and prosecuting Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who support and facilitate terrorist activities. The authorities are committed to taking legal action to combat the rising tide of terrorism in the region.
