GCW Parade Ground organizes Awareness visit to drug de-addiction centre

Jammu, Oct 22: The NCORD Cell of Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu, organized a visit to the Drug De-Addiction Centre in Channi Himmat as part of the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” initiative. This visit aimed to raise awareness about substance abuse and empower students by highlighting the serious consequences of drug use and the importance of living a drug-free life.
Nearly 50 students participated in the visit, where Dr. Gulnaaz Choudhary, in charge of the centre, delivered an informative lecture on the physical, psychological, and social impacts of substance abuse.
Other experts also shared their insights and experiences with the residents of the centre, emphasizing the importance of early intervention, rehabilitation, and community support in overcoming addiction.
The students actively engaged in discussions, asking questions about how to prevent and address substance use issues. Faculty members, including Dr. Archana Gupta, Dr. Shamim Akhter, Dr. Parveen Kumari, Prof. Meenu Sadhotra, Dr. Pallavi Jamwal, and Dr. Komal Bangotra, accompanied the students.
This visit is part of the NCORD Cell’s ongoing efforts to promote a healthy, substance-free lifestyle among students, inspiring them to advocate for a drug-free society.
