LeT terrorist arrested along with arms

SRINAGAR, Nov 18: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a terrorist affiliated with proscribed terror outfit LeT and recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition from his possession in Tral area of Awantipora.
In a handout, the police said that acting on specific intelligence, Awantipora Police alongwith Army (42RR) and CRPF (180BN) arrested a terrorist affiliated with proscribed terrorist outfit LeT from orchards in village Pinglish area of Police Station Tral. He has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Chopan son of Ab Rahman Chopan resident of Lurgam Tral. Incriminating materials alongwith arms & ammunition including a Pistol, 18 pistol rounds and 02 magazines have been recovered from his possession.
According to police spokesman, the Preliminary investigation reveals that he has been involved in several terror related activities in South Kashmir Range. Pertinent to mention here that he was involved in case FIR No. 114/2024 under sections 16 of ULAP Act 7/27 of IA Act and 109 BNS of Police Station Tral registered related to firing upon one outside labourer namely Shubam Kumar resident of Bijnore UP on 24/10/2024 in which the said labourer was critically injured.
Further investigation is going on, reads the statement.
