Early Times Report
AKHNOOR, Nov 18: BJP leader and member of the District Development Council (DDC), Pandit Suresh Sharma, inaugurated the long-awaited road from Gaida Khad to JD Bridge, which connects District Jammu with District Reasi. The road, which had been incomplete for the last 22 years, is expected to significantly ease travel for people commuting between the two districts.
This vital infrastructure project was constructed with an investment of Rs 2 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The road has been a long-pending demand from the local community, as people faced considerable difficulties, particularly during the rainy season, due to the incomplete and poorly maintained road.
Addressing the gathering, Suresh Sharma emphasized the BJP's commitment to improving connectivity in rural and far-flung areas. "We are working to ensure that every village and locality is connected with paved roads," he said. "Our aim is to eliminate areas without proper road infrastructure and bring development to all corners of the region." He also mentioned that similar projects will be taken up in the coming days to further enhance accessibility and convenience for the people.
The inauguration was attended by local leaders and dignitaries, including BJP Mandal President Dr. Ramlal Sharma, Mandal General Secretary Master Chanchal Singh, Gulshan Kumar, Mandal Vice President Bodhraj, and many others from the community.
The road's completion is expected to significantly improve transportation, benefiting hundreds of vehicles and people who rely on this route daily. The local residents expressed their gratitude to Suresh Sharma for addressing their long-standing concerns and fulfilling the much-awaited promise.
