Mehbooba should stop instigating people on communal lines: Kavinder
12/2/2024 10:06:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 2: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Monday termed the statement made by PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti that the country is moving towards situations like 1947 riots as highly irresponsible and inflammatory.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart leader said that statements like the one given by Mehbooba not only question the progress and unity of our country witnessed in the past decade but also incite unnecessary fear and wedge among the communities.
In a strong rebuttal to what the PDP chief has stated, Kavinder said India is witnessing unprecedented development and brotherhood under the leadership of Narendra Modi government, which is not being digested by the opposition parties and such statements are outcome of desperation of the parties, which are out of power, because people have been showing undaunted faith in the leadership of PM Modi.
It is pertinent to mention that PDP chief Mehbooba had accused the BJP-led government of creating a communal divide in the country.
Kavinder said that making baseless comparisons with the horrific riots of 1947, a time when the country was undergoing painful partition is a failed attempt to mislead the people, which could prove detrimental for the peace in the country. Refuting Mehbooba Mufti's allegations that the BJP government is responsible for the communal discord in the country, he said that what she has been saying is contrary to reality because BJP has always worked for the welfare of all without any prejudice or partiality. "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is treading fast by ensuring inclusivity and development for all", he asserted.
