NSS unit of GDC Ramnagar launches 7-day special winter camp

RAMNAGAR, Jan 20: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramnagar inaugurated a seven-day special winter camp themed "Youth for Rural Reconstruction," running from January 20 to January 26, 2025. The camp aims to foster a spirit of community service and social responsibility among students.
The inauguration ceremony, held under the patronship of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, was led by the In-Charge Principal, Prof. Ashni Devi. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and a formal welcome address.
NSS Program Officer, Prof. Ritika Mahajan, briefed the volunteers on the planned activities and responsibilities for the camp. NIC 2024 and 2025 participants Shivali Sharma and Diksha Sharma shared their experiences, inspiring volunteers to contribute meaningfully.
Day 1 Highlights:
Lectures: Dr. Pankaj Sharma (HOD English) and Prof. Manmohan Singh (HOD History) addressed the volunteers, emphasizing their societal duties and the need to eliminate social barriers.
Cleanliness Drive: Volunteers conducted a cleanliness drive within the college premises and the adopted village, Thaplal. They raised awareness about the importance of hygiene and collected plastic waste while cleaning parks and surrounding areas.
