Jammu Sanskriti hosts District Bocce Ball Championship

JAMMU, Feb 4: Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, recently hosted the District-Level Bocce Ball Championship, organized by Reffa Boules India Federation. The event witnessed participation from over 150 schools, including SD Tara Puri High School, Dogra Hr. Sec. School, R.M. Public School, Shiksha Niketan Hr. Sec. School, NGO Jiger, and the J&K Bocce Ball Team.
The championship was graced by Chief Guest Sh. Hassen Ur Rehman, IPS (DIG Railways J&K), whose presence elevated the significance of the occasion. Other esteemed guests included Ms. Pooja Malhotra, Founder Patron of J&K Sports Speed Ball Association; Ms. Aastha Nanda, Director of Reffa Boules India Federation; Ms. Sandhya Dhar, Accountant in Relief and Rehabilitation; Mr. Munish Gupta, Vice-President of J&K Sports Speedball Association; and Sh. Ashwani Jojra, Founder of Sahyog India and Area Director of Special Olympics Bharat, J&K. The event was hosted by Mr. Sunny Nanda, General Secretary of Reffa Boules India Federation.
The championship commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Prabhjot Kour Bhalla, Headmistress of Jammu Sanskriti School, setting the tone for an inspiring day. A ceremonial torch-lighting and the release of colorful balloons symbolized the spirit of the event. A special performance by differently-abled children highlighted the inclusivity of the competition, followed by a friendly match among staff members, fostering camaraderie.
The highlight of the day was the distribution of Gold and Silver medals by the Chief Guest and esteemed dignitaries, recognizing the outstanding achievements of young athletes. In his address, Sh. Hassen Ur Rehman, IPS, commended the participants for their dedication and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. He also applauded Jammu Sanskriti School for organizing a pioneering event in J&K.
Ms. Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson, praised the relentless efforts of the staff and students in making the event a success. She emphasized the importance of sports in fostering discipline, unity, and resilience among young minds.
