Popular Govt ushering in developmental transformation in J&K: Rattan Lal Gupta

JAMMU, Feb 5: Adv Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), asserted that the popular government is bringing a significant change in the development landscape of the region. He emphasized that the National Conference, under the leadership of Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, is committed to bridging the gap in providing essential services to the people.
He made these remarks while interacting with women party workers at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu. The meeting was organized under the leadership of Mrs Rajni Devi Working President Women Wing Jammu in the presence of Mrs Bimla Luthra former MLA and State Vice President, Mrs Satwant Kour Dogra Provincial President Women Wing Jammu and Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Provincial Secretary Jammu , who apprised the senior leadership about the sufferings of women during the last ten years of BJP rule.
At the beginning of the meeting, she highlighted the growing hardships faced by women due to rising inflation, unemployment, and inadequate welfare measures. She emphasized that the earlier government failed to address issues like safety, economic empowerment, and social security for women, leaving them vulnerable and neglected. She urged the NC leadership to prioritize women-centric policies, ensuring their rights, dignity, and equal opportunities in the party's vision for a progressive Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Rattan Lal Gupta said that the NC leadership is actively reaching out to people at their doorsteps to mitigate their concerns and ensure their grievances are addressed in a time-bound manner.
Highlighting the proactive governance of the NC-led administration, Rattan Lal Gupta recalled how Omar Abdullah and his Cabinet ministers addressing public issues on a priority basis by holding Public Darbars, demonstrating the government's commitment to responsive governance.
Highlighting the achievements of Omar Abdullah's government in its first 100 days, he noted the sanctioning of 575 lecturer posts to strengthen academic infrastructure and raising the upper age limit for PSC aspirants. Key reforms included a three-tier faculty structure for dental colleges, amendments to the J&K GST Act for streamlined financial operations, and eliminating oral tests for certain government jobs to enhance transparency. Additionally, financial relief was provided to government employees and pensioners by clearing pending DA arrears
"The present government is making strides in ensuring the availability of basic amenities. Regular water supply, discipline in the medical sector, and improved governance in public service delivery are our top priorities. The people of Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing tangible results due to the efforts of our government," he added.
The Provincial President also lauded Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's personal efforts in promoting tourism in Jammu and Kashmir during his recent visit to the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Pavilion at the Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2025, Asia's largest travel trade show, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. He reiterated that NC's leadership is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of the region's tourism industry.
Calling upon party workers, Rattan Lal Gupta urged the cadre to further strengthen the party at the grassroots level and work towards consolidating the support base of National Conference. "We must stand united to strengthen the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in their mission to serve the people of J&K," he said.
The Provincial President further encouraged the party workers to gear up for the upcoming Panchayat elections, emphasizing that a strong NC presence at the grassroots is crucial to ensuring good governance and equitable development across the Union Territory.
On this occasion Mrs Sushma Devi District President Samba Women Wing nominated the following office bearers District Samba Women wing.
Mrs Neeta Devi has been nominated as Vice President District Samba Women wing and Mrs Pinki Kumari as District Secretary Samba Women wing.
Mrs Tripta Sharma has been nominated as Block President Parmandal Women wing, Mrs Neeta Devi as Block President Rajpura women wing and Mrs Sunita Devi as Block President Bari Brahmana Women wing,
