CJM rejects bail plea of woman involved in firing incident
2/5/2025 10:24:21 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 5: Chief Judicial Magistrate Preet Simran K. Grover today rejected the bail application of Dazy Jamwal alias Dimple who was allegedly involved in firing incident at Lala Da Bagh which has gone viral in social media.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Preet Simran K. Grover while rejecting the bail application after hearing Adv JP Gandhi for the applicant whereas APP Vikram Parihar for the UT whereas Adv AR Khan for the complainant observed that in recent times, there are several cases of people being shot over minor issues and then plea of personal liberty is taken. The present incident has taken place in broad day light over a land dispute and cases regarding the same were also sub-judiced before court of law, as such where only to the extent of civil rights have been violated, if any, from the side of complainant and the fact that civil remedies are also available to accused side and have been availed also, then under such circumstances to curb such incidents over land disputes, which is threat to peace and security of general public and society at large, court has to deal with such persons with tough hands. No one is given right to play with the life of any person by using excessive force, which was not required and which she was not authorized to do so. In the present case, the accused/applicant is alleged to have committed a serious offence of attempt to murder along with other co-accused which is a heinous offence From the perusal of the CD file, it clearly reveals that applicant/accused has prima facie committed the said offence and there are sufficient grounds to presume the involvement of accused/applicant in the alleged crime and the fact that investigation is at initial stages. Moreso, as per CD file, statement of victim before Magistrate has not been recorded yet and co-accused are still absconding and weapon of offence has not been recovered yet. (JNF)
