Night cold returns to Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 13: Night cold returned to Kashmir valley, with all weather stations recording temperatures below the freezing point on Thursday, officials said.
The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast mainly dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir for the next 48 hours.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of -2.4°C, and it was -2.6°C below the average during this period of the season, the MeT office said.
The bright sun appeared during the day, presenting summer-like weather conditions in Kashmir.
Over the past 24 hours, day temperatures have risen by 3-4°C in many parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The night temperatures have dropped by 1-2°C in scattered areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of -7.5°C, while Pahalgam in south Kashmir dipped to -3.6°C. Sonamarg, in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, registered the lowest temperature at -8.8°C during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
MeT said there is no significant forecast till February 18.
