Carrom Competition organizes at GDC RS Pura

RS PURA, Apr 3: The Department of Physical Education and Sports at Government Degree College (GDC) RS Pura organized a one-day Carrom Competition under the Fit India Initiative. This event is part of a series of activities scheduled to be conducted every month, aligning with the broader goal of fostering long-term behavioral changes and promoting a healthier nation.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from both male and female students of the college under the supervision of Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director, GDC RS Pura. The event aimed to emphasize the significance of physical fitness, health awareness, and the development of healthy habits among students.
The Principal of GDC RS Pura, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While addressing the students, she highlighted the key objectives of the Fit India Movement, emphasizing physical fitness, workplace wellness, and the adoption of a healthy diet and lifestyle. She motivated the participants to compete with enthusiasm while maintaining the true spirit of sportsmanship.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour awarded medals to the winners. The results of the competition are as follows:
Women's Category: Sneha Kumari & Shivani Virdhi - Winners
Men's Category: Sarabjeet Hira & Namanpreet Singh - Winners
The event was attended by several esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Anupama Pandotra, Prof. Kiran Pathania, Prof. Sanjay Upadhyay, Prof. Neelam Kumari, Prof. Rakesh Choudhary, Prof. Rakesh Kalotra, Dr. Roopali Slathia, and Mr. Kamaldeep Singh, who extended their support to the initiative.
The Fit India Movement continues to play a crucial role in encouraging individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles, and such initiatives at educational institutions are instrumental in shaping a fitter and more aware generation.
