CB books 7, including paramedical Institute owner, for duping innocents

Jammu, Apr 3: Crime Branch has booked seven accused including owner of a paramedical Institute and a property dealer for alluring and duping several innocent people of Jammu & Himachal of Rs. 1.32 crores approximately on different pretexts.
In a statement here a CB spokesman said that five cases of fraud have been registered by the Crime Branch to thoroughly investigate big frauds.
The accused owner of paramedical institution Kunjwani namely Irshad Ahmed S/o Gulam Ahmed R/O Dangerpora Pulwama (Kashmir) has been booked on the complaint of Amardeep Singh R/O Nanak Nagar, Jammu for duping him of Rs. 15.00 lakhs on the pretext of providing jobs to three candidates .
The complainant has alleged that accused Irshad Ahmed is running & dealing with placements agency also for different offices. He approached the complainant and introduced himself as head of placement agency in Srinagar. He told that he has high approach.
The complainant handed over the sum to the accused at Press Club Jammu. After a month, the accused handed over fake appointment orders of all three candidates mentioning job for Mandeep Singh as Messengers and for Sunil Vaid & Mohd Sadiq as Gardners in Headquarter, Chief Engineer, Zone Udhampur. The candidates as per appointment orders reported at Head Quarters where they were told that orders were fake. The fraud was conveyed to accused and he was told to return Rs 15.00 lakhs but he flatly refused to return the amount.
Accused Piara Singh S/o Kartar Singh R/o Fathepur Salarian, Tehsil R.S Pura, District Jammu has been booked on a written complaint of Karanjit Singh from Dablehar Tehsil R.S Pura, District Jammu for duping of Rs 08 lakhs on the pretext of providing work permit in Australia to the nephew of complainant.
Accused persons namely 1. Gurjant Singh alias Bonny S/o Late S. Iqbal Singh R/o Makhanpur, Simbal Camp, Jammu and 2.Harsimran Singh S/o Rajinder Singh R/o Sant Nagar, Gadigarh, Jammu have been booked on a written complaint of Gagandeep Singh of Kunjwani, Jammu for duping of Rs. 22 .25 Lakh on the pretext of providing tourist visa of Australia. The accused persons were running an office in the name of “STUDY ABROAD” near National Hospital, Karan Bagh, Jammu.
Accused Property Dealer namely Rahul Dasgotra S/o Manohar Lal R/o village Kotli Mian Fateh, Jammu has been booked on a written complaint of Dr. Anjan Bhola Channi Himmat Jammu for duping Rs. 16.50 Lakgs from complainant by falsely assuring him that he would buy a land near Bishnah adjoining area and need financial assistance to purchase and he would return the amount with interest. Later on, the complainant got information that Rahul Dasgotra had not purchased any land and he had also duped other people by making false promises on same pretext.
Two accused Khairwood dealers namely Parveen Kumar S/o Pathu Ram R/o Thandi Choi, Tehsil Kahra Bali, District Jammu and Jitender Kumar Sharma S/o Krishan Lal R/o Barnara, Tehsil Sunderbani, Distt. Rajouri have been booked on written complaint of Dhian Chand S/o Sh. Zulfi Ram R/o District Hamirpur, HP through Akhil Sharma S/o Rattan Lal Sharma R/o Roop Nagar, Jammu for duping Rs. 70.20 Lakh on the pretext of providing Khairwood to the complainant.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu Benam Tosh confirmed that five separate cases viz. case FIR No. 17/2025, case FIR No.19/2025,case FIR No. 20/2025,case FIR No. 21/2025 and case FIR No. 22/2025 have been registered at P/S Crime Branch EOW Jammu and investigations are underway.
