GDC Paloura organizes 60-hour training program

JAMMU, Apr 3: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College (GDC) Paloura, Jammu, successfully conducted a 60-hour Short-Term Training Program on 'Community Journalism' during the academic session 2024-25. The initiative, aimed at enhancing students' skills in photography and videography, was organized in collaboration with the School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu, and the Directorate of J&K Skill Development Mission under the project 'UpSkilling Training Programme for Women.'
Students from all semesters actively participated in the program, with 40 girl students completing the course with dedication. To honor their commitment, a certificate distribution ceremony was held on April 3, 2025, where certificates were presented by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Kulvinder Kour. She extended her heartfelt wishes to the participants and encouraged more students to take advantage of such skill-enhancing opportunities.
The program was coordinated by Prof. Pooja Sharma, with Komal Shagroo as the training partner. The certificate distribution ceremony was hosted by Pooja Kalsi and Suneha Arti. The event was attended by faculty members, including Prof. Geetanjali and Dr. Sapna Sharma. With this initiative, GDC Paloura reaffirms its commitment to the holistic development of students by providing platforms that enhance their practical skills and career prospects.
