MANDI GOBINDGARH, Apr 3: Desh Bhagat Radio 107.8 FM (Aap Ki Awaaz) celebrated Chandigarh Bollywood Day with a cake-cutting ceremony. The Indian film maker and Film producer of Andaz, Dosti and Janvar Suneel Darshan, Vinod Sharma co-actor of Jaspal Bhatti serials as well as theatre artist Vimal Trikha were guests of the event. Desh Bhagat Radio Station Head RJ Sangmitra welcomed the guests. Chancellor Dr Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr Tajinder Kaur and President Dr Sandeep Singh were present during the event. After the cake-cutting ceremony, Vimal Trikha, Founder Member of Chandigarh Bollywood Facilitation Cell, said that every year this special day is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Desh Bhagat Radio. It is worth mentioning that April 3 is an important day because on this day the big stars of the Indian film industry, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Hema Malini and the famous film director S. Yash Chopra was present under one roof with a large unit of 200 people at the five-star hotel Mountview in Chandigarh for the shooting of the super hit film 'Veerzara'. Darshan Aulakh's production arranged the shooting in Chandigarh and around the city.
So this day represents the importance of a beautiful city in Bollywood. On this occasion, Vinod Sharma said that from that day Chandigarh started attracting Bollywood stars and directors for shooting in the beautiful city of Chandigarh. As a result, every Punjabi film director is shooting his films here for Chandigarh and Tricity. At the end, RJ Sangmitra thanked everyone and said that City Beautiful Chandigarh is a romantic place for shooting films.
