Army chief reviews operational readiness of Vajra corps

New Delhi, Apr 12: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, visited the Indian Army’s Vajra Corps to assess its operational preparedness along the Western borders. Accompanied by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Western Command, General Dwivedi was briefed on the current security environment and the Corps' readiness posture by the General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps.
During his visit, General Dwivedi toured select forward locations to get a firsthand understanding of the operational preparations by frontline formations. He expressed satisfaction with the seamless coordination between the Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, Punjab Police, and other stakeholders in ensuring border security and maintaining peace in the hinterland.
The Army Chief lauded the high morale and professionalism of the troops and urged them to continue upholding the Army's rigorous standards of operational excellence. He encouraged the adoption of cutting-edge technologies as part of the Army’s modernization journey, aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat – India@2047.
A special highlight of the visit was General Dwivedi’s interaction with and felicitation of veterans, acknowledging their selfless service and continued contribution to nation-building.
Additionally, Mrs. Sunita Dwivedi, President of the Army Women Welfare Association (AWWA), reviewed various welfare initiatives being undertaken by Vajra Corps for the well-being of families and ex-servicemen, emphasizing the Army’s commitment to holistic community support.
