Jammu, Apr 18: Infighting within the J&K Congress came to the fore today when some workers raised an uproar over the undue importance given to certain dissidents during interactions with the visiting All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and in-charge for J&K and Ladakh, Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain.
Sources said that during Dr. Hussain’s interactions with district presidents, block presidents, and other senior leaders at the Guest House in Jammu, some Congress leaders who had been waiting were not given an audience.
“Instead of engaging with workers who have maintained discipline within the party, preference was given to certain dissidents who have already raised a banner of revolt against J&K Congress chief Tariq Hamid Karra and AICC General Secretary Ghulam Ahmed Mir,” sources revealed.

Loyal Congress leaders waiting outside lost their patience and began raising slogans, alleging that those who had remained committed to party discipline were being ignored in favor of the dissidents.
Some annoyed workers reportedly began knocking on the door to send a message to the AICC General Secretary that he should take feedback from genuine and loyal party workers, rather than prioritizing dissidents at their expense.
Sources said the situation took an ugly turn when a verbal duel broke out between the dissidents and the leaders waiting outside.
Important to mention here during the second day of his maiden visit to Jammu and Kashmir after his appointment as incharge of J&K and Ladakh Congress, Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain on Friday met with various delegation to seek feedback about party’s worst-ever performance of Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory.
