Indian Army organizes Traffic Awareness Lecture
5/10/2025 10:06:00 PM
Early Times Report
DODA, May 10: In a proactive initiative to curb rising road accidents in the region, the Indian Army conducted a Traffic Awareness Lecture at Bhart in Doda district today. The event aimed to educate local youth and vehicle drivers about traffic rules, road safety, and responsible driving habits.
Doda district has witnessed a concerning number of traffic-related incidents, primarily due to low awareness of traffic norms and poor driving discipline. Recognizing the gravity of the issue, the Indian Army launched this awareness campaign, specifically targeting two-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers, as well as the general public.
Around 80 residents from Bhart, Barnu, Gujjar Basti, and Bhalra participated in the session. Attendees were sensitized on safe driving practices, the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and the significance of regular vehicle maintenance to ensure roadworthiness.
Soldiers also conducted on-the-spot sensitization of drivers on the road, distributing informative and motivational pamphlets to promote adherence to traffic norms.
The Drivers Association Doda and local administration extended their appreciation to the Indian Army for their meaningful effort in promoting traffic safety and awareness in the region.
