Early Times Report

Jammu, May 11: In a significant academic milestone, Cluster University of Jammu has received formal approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for its Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programs. This marks the first time these programs at the university have been formally recognized by AICTE, despite being successfully run for over two decades in its constituent colleges.
The approval covers a total intake of 180 seats for BBA (offered at SPMR College and MAM College) and 240 seats for BCA (offered at SPMR College, GGM Science College, and MAM College), along with an additional 10% seat reservation for EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) candidates.
Prof. K.S. Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University, called it a landmark achievement, stating, “This recognition not only validates the academic standards we have maintained but also aligns our programs with national benchmarks, thereby enhancing opportunities for our students.”
The AICTE approval was the result of a meticulous application process initiated in January 2025. Prof. Naveen Anand, Dean Academic Affairs, played a key role in leading the effort, supported by the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans, Finance Officer, IT Cell, and other academic and administrative teams.
Ms. Ankur Mahajan, Registrar of the university, highlighted the rigorous work involved in securing the approval and commended the dedication of the team. She emphasized that this achievement reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence and transparency.
Prof. Naveen Anand added, “The AICTE nod was the need of the hour. It validates the quality and relevance of our BBA and BCA programs and opens doors to national-level benefits like internships, scholarships, and industry-academia collaborations.”
The Vice Chancellor also acknowledged the efforts of Prof. Rajinder Singh (Principal, SPMR College), Prof. Romesh Gupta (Principal, GGM Science College), and Prof. B.B. Anand (Former Principal, MAM College) for raising awareness about the importance of AICTE recognition among students. With this approval, students can now avail of AICTE-sponsored schemes, including internships, financial aid, credit transfers, and enhanced industry exposure—giving them a competitive edge in the professional world. Cluster University’s accomplishment underscores its ongoing mission to deliver nationally accredited, career-focused education and enhance its academic standing across the country.
