Jammu, May 11: In a heartfelt tribute to mothers on the occasion of Mother’s Day, Senior BJP leader and Publicity Secretary for Jammu South, Pardeep Sharma, launched a plantation drive under the nationwide campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The drive was kickstarted at Nanak Nagar, where Sharma planted saplings to honor the role of mothers and promote environmental awareness. Speaking on the occasion, he urged the people of Jammu, especially the youth, to join the campaign by planting at least one tree in the name of their mother. “This simple yet meaningful gesture can create a lasting impact—not only as a tribute to our mothers but also as a step towards building a greener, healthier India,” Sharma said. He further emphasized that community participation in such eco-friendly initiatives is vital for sustainable development and climate action. The event saw enthusiastic participation from local residents and party workers. Pardeep Sharma extended warm Mother’s Day wishes to all, calling on citizens to celebrate the day with purpose by connecting love for mothers with care for nature. |
