Pak Army sides with terror groups | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 12: The Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) of the Indian Army, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, on Monday, unequivocally stated that Operation Sindoor was exclusively aimed at terrorists and terror groups operating from Pakistan. He emphasized that India’s fight is solely against terrorism and its infrastructure in Pakistan, not against the Pakistani Army or its civilians. Addressing a joint press conference alongside Air Marshal A.K. Bharti of the Indian Air Force and Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod of the Navy, Lt Gen Ghai said, “Operation Sindoor was directed only at terrorists and their infrastructure. Unfortunately, the Pakistani Army chose to align with these terror groups.” Sharing operational details, Lt Gen Ghai revealed that on May 9 and 10, Pakistani forces made unsuccessful attempts to attack critical installations across India. “Our multi-layered air defence grid effectively neutralized drone attacks,” he stated, adding that “Pakistan Air Force (PAF) drones failed to breach our defence network.” Several drones were destroyed using shoulder-fired weapons, and some Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) were also shot down during the operation. Lt Gen Ghai lauded the Border Security Force (BSF) for its pivotal role in the operation. “From the Director General to the last jawan, the BSF played a crucial role in securing our borders,” he said. The DGMO acknowledged the unwavering support of the Indian government and the collective resolve of India’s 1.4 billion citizens. “This is not just a military e Our multi-layered air defence grid effectively neutralized drone attacks. Bharti highlighted the Indian Air Force’s seamless operations, stating, “Our pilots, drones, helicopters, and air defence systems worked tirelessly, day and night, to protect vital assets.” He revealed that Chinese-origin PL-15 air-to-air missiles missed their targets and were effectively countered. “Long-range rockets, loitering munitions, and Turkish-origin Yiha systems were neutralized,” he added. Visual evidence of quadcopters being shot down by Indian systems was also presented. Air Marshal Bharti further disclosed that targeted airstrikes were conducted across various regions in Pakistan, specifically targeting Nur Khan Air Base and Rahim Yar Khan Air Base. Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod underscored the Indian Navy’s role in ensuring maritime security, stating that naval air defence systems and fleet patrols remained on high alert. “If required, we have the capability to strike at will, whether on land or at sea. Pakistan posed no threat to us during maritime operations,” he asserted. Responding to reports from across the border, the Indian military dismissed Pakistan’s claim that a terror leader allegedly killed in a targeted strike was still alive. “They will say whatever suits their internal narrative, but facts speak louder,” Air Marshal Bharti remarked. He reiterated, “Our fight is not with the people of Pakistan—it is with the terrorists they continue to shelter.” |
