Early Times Report DARHAL, May 21: In observance of National Anti-Terrorism Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal organized a special lecture titled "The Evils of Terrorism" to raise awareness among students about the destructive impact of terrorism and to promote a message of peace, unity, and national solidarity. The thought-provoking event was held on the college campus under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal of GDC Darhal. The programme was a collaborative effort between the college's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and NSS Unit, both of which played a key role in organizing and coordinating the lecture. Dr. M. Saleem Wani, Head of the Department of English and IQAC Coordinator, served as the keynote speaker. In his address, Dr. Wani provided an in-depth analysis of the various dimensions of terrorism and its far-reaching consequences on individuals, societies, and nations. He emphasized the critical role that education plays in combating extremist ideologies and cultivating a culture of tolerance and understanding. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across different semesters and was attended by the entire faculty. The programme was further enriched by the presence of senior faculty member Dr. Ghulam Abbas, along with a distinguished panel of academicians including Dr. Taseem Ahmed, Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, Dr. Anzaar Ahmed, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Dr. Sagir, Dr. Atau r Rehman, Dr. Shakeel Kataria, Dr. Mohd Shakoor, and Dr. Sumina, among others. Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, NSS Coordinator, conducted the proceedings of the programme with great finesse and delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to the guests, students, and faculty members for their active and spirited participation.
