Early Times Report JAMMU, May 21: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO), District Jammu, inaugurated a vibrant series of Inter-Zonal District Level and Inter-School District Level Sports Competitions for U-14 and U-17 boys and girls across various venues in Jammu today. The competitions commenced at MA Stadium and Green Field Gandhi Nagar, featuring matches in Basketball, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, and Kabaddi. Simultaneously, Handball and Hockey events for U-14 and U-17 boys and girls were held at KK Hakku Stadium and Dogra Ground Shastri Nagar. These sporting events are being organized under the patronage of Rajinder Singh Tara (JKAS), Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K UT, with the overall supervision of Deputy Director Central, Jetinder Mishra (JKAS), and Joint Director YSS, Ved Parkash (JKAS). Supporting the effort are Accounts Officer Sunil Kumar Sharma, and DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, along with ZPEOs Joginder Sharma (Miran Sahib), Ram Murti (Gandhi Nagar), Jatinder Kour (Satwari), Harvinder Kour (Jammu), and Harvinder Singh Sodi, who ensured the smooth conduct of the competitions. Approximately 600 students from various Government and Private Schools of District Jammu enthusiastically participated in today's events. The competitions are being efficiently conducted by experienced sports experts and technical officials of the department including Bandana Sharma, Jasdev Singh, Ravinder Singh, Hardev Singh, Karanjit Singh, Mandeep Singh, Anil Dogra, Gourav Sharma, Vaneet Pangotra, Mosmi Verma, Rajesh Bandral, and others. Today's Results (Final Matches): Kabaddi (U-14 Boys): Zone Miran Sahib defeated Zone Gandhi Nagar by 39-14 points. Kabaddi (U-14 Girls): Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Miran Sahib by 29-18 points. Kho-Kho (U-14 Girls): Zone Miran Sahib defeated Zone Satwari by 6-3 points. Kho-Kho (U-14 Boys): Zone Miran Sahib defeated Zone Gandhi Nagar by 5-3 points. These competitions are part of the department's commitment to fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and athletic excellence among school students in Jammu. |
