Early Times Report JAMMU, May 21: A high-level delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), led by its Chief Patron Sh. Ganesh Khajuria, met Jb. Naseem Javaid Choudhary, Director School Education Jammu, in his office chamber on 21st May 2025 to discuss several significant and long-pending issues of the education sector. The delegation comprised senior state, provincial, and district-level office bearers of JKTF. During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on a wide range of critical matters concerning the teaching fraternity, non-teaching staff, and the student community. Key issues raised by JKTF included: Promotion of left-out Masters as Headmasters - The delegation strongly urged the Director to address the pending cases of Masters who have been left out of promotions despite being eligible. Holding of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings from Teachers to Masters - Emphasis was laid on conducting one more round of DPCs for promotion from Teachers to Masters across all districts. Early conduct of long-pending DPCs for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) - JKTF stressed the importance of expediting these DPCs across all districts. Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) 2025 - The delegation called for the timely initiation and execution of ATD 2025 across all cadres, including Teachers, Masters, Lecturers, and other teaching and non-teaching officials. . Pending issues of Non-Teaching Staff - JKTF also brought attention to various service-related concerns of clerical staff, lab assistants, and other non-teaching employees, such as promotions, regularization, and timely redressal of grievances. Infrastructure and Resource Gaps in Schools - The forum raised concerns regarding inadequate infrastructure, lack of digital tools, and shortage of teaching staff in remote and border areas, which directly affect the learning outcomes of students. Student-Centric Issues The delegation highlighted the need for timely distribution of textbooks, uniforms, and other basic facilities to students. Director School Education Jammu, Jb. Naseem Javaid Choudhary, while appreciating the proactive role of JKTF in highlighting genuine issues, assured the delegation that all the raised matters would be taken up with utmost seriousness and priority. He reiterated his commitment to pursuing the promotion cases of left-out Masters with the Administrative Department and ensuring timely DPCs for all eligible categories. The delegation included Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Subash Chander, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Kuldeep Verma, Gurnam Singh, P.D.
