Kavinder slams Congress for politicizing Operation Sindoor
5/21/2025 10:21:08 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 21: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta today strongly criticized the Congress party and its state leadership for their irresponsible and misleading remarks over Operation Sindoor, a decisive counter-terror strike carried out by Indian security forces on Pakistan territory.
Responding to JKPCC President Tariq Hameed Karra's statement questioning the government's approach and the External Affairs Minister's comments on pre-emptive diplomatic communications, the BJP stalwart said, "Congress leaders are again indulging in dangerous politics at the cost of national security. Operation Sindoor was a strategic and successful military move against terror infrastructure, and any attempt to undermine it by questioning its execution only serves the narrative of India's enemies."
Kavinder slammed Karra for suggesting that India had "informed" Pakistan ahead of the strikes. "These statements are not just misleading but deeply irresponsible. India has never compromised its sovereignty or national interest in dealing with terrorism. By raising doubts over our External Affairs Ministry and questioning the legitimacy of our armed forces' actions, Congress is giving fuel to anti-India propaganda," he added.
Reacting over Karra's criticism of the temporary cessation of hostilities and the Pahalgam attack, Kavinder stated, "Congress is trying to create confusion and fear among the people. The ceasefire and its timing were part of a larger strategic decision-making process, and unlike Congress regimes, the current government does not bow to external pressures. As for the Pahalgam incident, intelligence and security matters are handled with utmost seriousness. Congress should remember it was under their watch that India saw some of the worst lapses in security."
The senior BJP leader asked the Congress leadership to desist from making reckless statements that demoralize the armed forces and create confusion among the public. "At a time when our security forces are successfully neutralizing terror threats, the least Congress can do is stand with the nation. Playing politics over military operations not only weakens India's global position but also emboldens the enemies of peace," he said, asking the opposition to act with maturity and responsibility on issues of national importance.
Reaffirming BJP's commitment to national security and development, Kavinder appealed to the people of Jammu & Kashmir to reject divisive politics and support the strong and decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
