Udhampur, May 25: On 22.05.2025, an information was received at Police Station Chenani regarding a suspicious bag emitting a foul smell found among stones in Laddha village . Upon inspection, the police team found a decomposed dead body inside the bag. In this regard, a case FIR No. 55/2025 under Section 103 BNS was registered at PS Chenani. Later the deceased was identified as Ravi Kumar S/O Parkash Chand R/O Chulna, Panchari.
During the course of the investigation, a police team led by SDPO Chenani and SHO PS Chenani rounded up several suspects. After sustained questioning and the use of technical analysis, three persons were taken into custody, namely-
Nisha Devi, wife of the deceased, resident of Nargela.
Kanta Devi, wife of Bittu Ram, resident of Nargela.
Joginder, son of Bittu Ram, resident of Nargela.
All three accused disclosed their involvement in the murder due to personal domestic dispute. Based on their disclosures key recoveries inclusing the weapon of offence, were made.
Further investigation of the case is underway.
