Is PDP trying to realign with BJP, asks NC
6/2/2025 11:16:07 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, June 2: National Conference (NC) chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq on Monday asked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) whether it's making attempts to realign with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Talking to the reporters, Sadiq said that something is cooking within the PDP, which they have been hiding. “It is good to see Mehbooba Ji meeting Lieutenant Governor. But she needs to answer people whether the doors of LG were closed for the past five years?” he asked.
“I don’t understand why all of a sudden the political parties have started meeting the Lieutenant Governor. Yesterday the Apni Party met him and today the PDP rushed to Raj Bhavan. Are there any back-channel talks going on? Is she going to join hands with BJP again?” he said.
“She should reveal why she didn’t take all these steps related to the welfare of Kashmir Pandits during her tenure. Whatever has been done for the KPs so far was only taken forward during the tenure of Omar Abdullah. We are committed to the return of KPs. We expect the restoration of statehood soon and take measures to ensure a sense of security among them for their return,” Sadiq added.
Pertinently, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti along with the senior party leader Mehboob Beigh met the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370 where she presented a letter with multiple to him.
Also, he said that strict directions have been passed by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah regarding the assessment of losses to the tourism sector, adding that the issue of assistance will be pursued with the Government of India for a package to the affected tourism stakeholders.
