Beating the heat wave and humidity, IGNOU flying squad teams charge into Exam Centres for on-the-spot monitoring

JAMMU, July 7: "We are in the midst of June 2025 Term-end Examinations of IGNOU which are being held across the Country for various Academic Programmes offered by the University in ODL as well Online mode and the examinations in all Examination Centres in the region are going on smoothly in fair manner maintaining utmost integrity and sanctity of the examinations", said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu.
The University, under the Jammu Region, has established 32 Examination Centres which include four Examination Centres in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, District Jail Ambphalla, District Jail Udhampur and District Jail Kathua exclusively for Jail inmates, one Examination Centre in Northern Command Udhampur exclusively for Army personnel, and one Examination Centre in National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Women, Jammu exclusively for conducting examinations in CBT mode.
Despite the intense heat wave and prevailing extreme humid conditions, the Flying Squad teams are travelling across the region for on-the-spot monitoring at the Examination Centres. Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director made a surprise visit to the Examination Centres at GGM Science College, Canal Road and KC College of Education, Akhnoor Road, Muthi, Jammu and was satisfied to find the things in proper order. "Prof (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal GGM Science College, and Dr. Sanjay Tickoo, Principal, K.C. College of Education, who are also the Centre Superintendents of their respective IGNOU Exam Centres are providing excellent support by way of conducting examinations as per set protocol under their supervision", said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, RD, RC Jammu.
Assistant Regional Director Dr. Asha Upadhyay made a surprise visit to the Exam Centres at Govt. MAM College, Jammu, for surprise check and found the things going on as per the laid down norms and guidelines of the University.
Assistant Regional Director Dr. Vikram Singh visited the Exam Centre at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and felt satisfied about seeing the things in order.
xBased on on-the-spot random surprise checks and feedback obtained from other field functionaries, Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director, lauded the efforts of Examination Superintendents, and their Invigilation and other staff in ensuring smooth conduct of examinations in Jammu region.
