One notorious drug peddler nabbed by Jammu Police

JAMMU, July 7: As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu Nowabad Police apprehended one notorious drug peddler and recovered 8.66 grams of heroin(chitta) like substance alongwith electronic weighing scale from his possession * .
On dated 06/07/25, the officials of PP Tallab Tillo, While routine patrolling Naka cum Patrolling duty when reached near Kamla Palace, saw that one person on seeing the police party tried to fled back towards the street near Kamla Palace . Acting swiftly the Police Party overpowered him and took him into custody. On questioning the said person and after that disclosed his identity as Rubel Sharma alias Chinko, S/O Mansa Ram, R/O- Lane No. 06, Suraj Nagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu . On searching, 8.86 grams of Heroine like substance and electronic weighing machine alongwith 11 Mobile phones were recovered from his possession.
In this regard, Case FIR No. 94/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act instantly got registered at PS Nowabad and the said accused was remanded to Police Custody and further investigation is underway to trace the source and network behind the illegal drug trade. More arrests and recoveries cannot be ruled out.
Police team led by PSI Paramjeet Singh IC PP Talab Tillo made the arrest/recovery/seizure under the supervision of Insp. Deepak Pathania SHO Nowabad, DSP Hqrs and SP City North, Jammu.
The general public has lauded the Nowabad Police for their relentless efforts to curb the drug menace in society. Police have urged parents and civil society members to actively participating in eradicating this scourge and protecting future generations from the dangers of drugs.
Nowabad Police, again requests the people of the area to come forward and share information about any such illicit activity with police for the cause and assures that their identity will be kept confidential.
