SRINAGAR, July 30: The School Education Department is in deep mourning following the tragic loss of three devoted teachers in two separate incidents-one in Kupwara and the two others in Udhampur.
Irshad Ahmad Lone, a teacher from Kupwara, lost his life in a fatal road accident, while Sanjay Sharma and Jagdev Singh, teachers from Udhampur, died in devastating flash floods. These incidents have cast a pall of grief across the education fraternity.
Minister for School Education, Social Welfare, and Health and Medical Education, Madam Sakeena Masood Itoo, extended her heartfelt condolences:
"These teachers were the backbone of our educational setup, inspiring countless young minds. Their sudden demise is an irreplaceable loss to the system and to their families. I offer my deepest condolences and assure all forms of support from the department," said Sakina Itoo. Adding to the sentiments, Secretary School Education, Shri Ram Niwas Sharma, also expressed sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved families:
"The passing of such dedicated educators is a profound loss to the entire teaching community. Their devotion to students and their role in shaping the future of society will always be remembered. The department stands united with their families in this painful moment, and all possible support-both emotional and institutional-will be extended," said Sharma.
On the directions of the Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), a delegation led by Joint Director School Education (North), Hakeem Tanveer, visited the home of late Irshad Ahmad Lone in Kupwara to convey the department's condolences in person.
"Lone was known for his commitment, humility, and passion for education. His absence will be deeply felt, not only by his students but also by his colleagues and the wider community. We stand by his family in this difficult hour," said Hakeem Tanveer.
The Director of School Education Kashmir Dr. G. N. Itoo also condoled the deaths of Irshad Ahmad Lone (Kupwara) and Sanjay Sharma and Jagdev Singh, (Udhampur). DSEK acknowledge their unwavering service to the cause of education.
"The contributions of Irshad Ahmad Lone (Kupwara) Mr. Sharma and Singh to the teaching community are immeasurable. Their loss has left a void that cannot be filled. We share in the grief of their loved ones and assure them of our continuous support," the Director stated.
The School Education Department reiterates its commitment to the welfare of its teaching community and will ensure that all necessary assistance and relief measures are extended to the affected families.
