Early Times Report BARAMULLA, July 30: The Baramulla District Rifle Association, in collaboration with Akaal Sports Shooting Academy, successfully concluded a 3-day Sports Shooting Camp and Competition held from 28th to 30th July at Guru Nanak Dev Model High School, Baramulla. An impressive number of over 300 students from various schools across the district participated enthusiastically in the event. In addition to school students, many young sportspersons from different categories also took part, showcasing their talent and growing interest in the discipline of shooting. The award ceremony was held today at Guru Nanak Dev Model High School, where the Chief Guest, Honourable MLA Baramulla Mr. Javed Hassan Beigh, distributed prizes and medals among the winners and participants. The event witnessed the gracious presence of several prominent personalities, including President Bar Association Baramulla Adv. Nelofar Maqsood, DSP Headquarters Mr. Altaf Ahmad, President Traders Federation Mr. Tariq Magloo, Secretary Auqaf Ghulam Mohammad Shalla, Chairman Transport Union Mr. Irshad Ahmad Ahangar, DGPC Secretary S. Satinder Singh, and DGPC Member S. Rajinder Singh Tulla. Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the commendable efforts of the Rifle Association and Akaal Sports Shooting Academy in promoting shooting sports among the youth of Baramulla. They encouraged all participants to continue their journey in the sport with dedication, discipline, and a spirit of sportsmanship. The function commenced with a welcome address by S. Jaipal Singh, President of the Baramulla District Rifle Association, who emphasized the importance of introducing competitive shooting to the youth as a means of channelling their energy in a positive direction. The vote of thanks was delivered by S. Paramjit Singh, Vice President of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA), who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participating schools, institutions, dignitaries, and volunteers for their invaluable support in making the event a resounding success. JKRA President S. Surinder Singh Sodhi extended his appreciation to the organisers and all stakeholders for their dedicated efforts to nurture the shooting talent of border-area youth. He conveyed special thanks to Shri Dilbag Singh, Ex-DGP J&K and Chief Patron of JKRA, for his continued guidance, blessings, and good wishes for the success and bright future of all participants.
