KATHUA, July 30: District Administration Kathua, in collaboration with Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial (GLDM) Government Degree College, Hiranagar and Yuva Bharat, organized a one-day Blood Donation Camp-cum-Awareness Program in the College premises. Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while noted social activist from Yuva Bharat Mr. Anurag, was the Guest of Honour. The Principal of the college, Dr. Pragya Khanna, was the Special Guest for the event. The program commenced with the plantation of Chinar saplings and other plants by the Chief Guest and other guests, symbolizing the commitment to both health and environmental sustainability. The event proceeded with the lighting of the traditional lamp and a formal welcome address by SDM Hiranagar Phulail Singh. The event witnessed participation from community members, social workers, school students, and faculty from various institutions across the Hiranagar Block. The Deputy Commissioner exhorted the youth to actively participate in social causes. He said blood donation is not just a medical need but our moral duty and a true expression of being humane. “Each unit of blood donated has the potential to save not just one but multiple lives”, he added. He also congratulated the college Principal, Yuva Bharat team, team of sub district administration Hiranagar and NSS volunteers for their efforts. |
