Jammu, July 30: In a swift and effective operation, Jammu Police have successfully solved a recent case of chain snatching reported in the Chinore area. On 22/07/2025, a complaint was received at Police Post Chinore from a woman who reported that two unidentified individuals, with their faces covered, snatched her gold chain while she was returning home from duty. The culprits fled the scene on a scooty. Acting promptly, police registered FIR No. 167/2025 U/S 307 BNS. The investigation team lead by IC PP PSI Arjun Singh, Incharge Police Post Chinore assisted by PSI Tahir Shabir, conducted a through investigation under the close supervision of SHO Domana and SDPO Domana. With the help of CCTV footage and technical analysis, the team identified and apprehended the accused: 1) Sanjeev Kumar alias Lucky, S/o Mohinder Lal, R/o Janipur, Age 47 2) Amit Kumar, S/o Late Ram Krishan, R/o Janipur Colony, Age 43 Upon their disclosure, the snatched gold chain was recovered, and the scooty used in the crime (JK02DB3187) was seized. The arrests and recovery were made in connection with FIR No. 167/2025 U/S 307 BNS. The investigation is ongoing, with further developments anticipated. The entire operation was conducted under the direct supervision of SSP Jammu Sh. Joginder Singh (JKPS) and SP Rural Jammu Sh. Brijesh Sharma (JKPS). Notably, this is the second case successfully solved by the current Incharge of Police Post Chinore. The general public has appreciated the Jammu Police for their prompt action and effective response in bringing the culprits to justice. |
