Reasi, July 30: Continuing its drive against the use and sale of banned materials, District Police Reasi today arrested one person for possessing and selling banned Gattu thread in Katra town.
Acting on a specific input, a Police Party from Police Station Katra apprehended Satish Kumar S/O Prem Chand R/O Matyal, Katra and recovered a quantity of banned Gattu thread from his shop located at Hospital Road, Katra.
The banned thread, commonly used in kite flying, poses a serious threat to both humans and animals due to its non-biodegradable and hazardous nature. Its sale and use have been strictly prohibited by the authorities.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 220/2025 U/S 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway.
District Police Reasi once again appeals to the general public to refrain from using or selling such banned materials and to report any such activities to the nearest police station. |
