KALAKOTE, Aug 13: NSS Unit of GDC Kalakote organized a lecture and unity march as a part of 79th Independence Day celebrations under the theme "Nasha Mukt Bharat for a Strong Bharat", aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The event was conducted under the guidance of worthy Principal of the college, Prof. Mohd Farooq Mirza and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty alike. The program began with a series of impactful lectures delivered by the Heads of Departments- Prof. Himanshu Kumar (HOD English), Dr. Mohd Ali Shabaz (HOD Urdu), and Dr. Khursheed Ahmed (HOD Economics). Each speaker addressed the issue of drug addiction from different perspectives-social, economic, and cultural-emphasizing its damaging impact on youth and the nation's future. Their speeches encouraged students to stay away from substance abuse and contribute positively to society. Following the lectures, a Unity March was organized within and around the campus. Students held banners, placards, and chanted slogans promoting a drug-free India. The march stood as a symbol of unity and determination in the fight against drug addiction. The whole event was conducted by Prof. Davinder Singh (NSS-PO) with a strong message: a Nasha Mukt Bharat is essential for a strong and progressive nation." |
