Early Times Report MANDI GOBINDGARH, Aug 13: The Department of Student Welfare, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Technology, and Computing at Desh Bhagat University, organized a Mass Pledge Ceremony aimed at raising awareness against ragging and fostering a culture of mutual respect and mental well-being within the campus. The event was led by Dr. Arashdeep Singh, Director - Student Welfare, who guided students and faculty members in taking the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan Pledge, reaffirming the university community's commitment to youth empowerment and building a substance-free campus. Following the pledge, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, formally inaugurated the Anti-Ragging Awareness Week (12th-18th August 2025) in accordance with the directives of the University Grants Commission (UGC). In his address, Dr. Sadawarti underscored the importance of creating a ragging-free campus and highlighted mental wellness as a cornerstone of both academic and personal growth. Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur praised the organizers for fostering a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere. Dr. Surjeet Kaur Patheja, Director performing art and Media, also attended the event. |
