Har Ghar Tringa is a patriotic initiative and campaign started in the country in year 2022 to mark the 75 years of the freedom of the country from British yoke. Since then Har Ghar Tringa campaign has assumed the position of annual event as it is celebrated annually and it is in fact Ghar Ghar Tiranga campaign as citizens are encourage to hoist national flag at top their houses, business establishments etc to ensure a personal and non-formal connect with the national flag and also demonstrate and exhibit love, respect and reverence for the national flag. The Har Ghar Tringa campaign aims to create a feeling of national unity and integration and primarily to sow the seeds of patriotism and nationalism. It has become a routine affair to hoist national flag by the people at top their houses and business establishment to arouse the feeling of patriotism and national integration and also to be ready to work for ensuring national unity. The Har Ghar Tringa, campaign,under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsa initiative encourages citizens to hoist the Indian flag at their homes to foster a sense of a personal connection with the national symbol and celebrate the country’s independence. This campaign was launched in 2022 to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence. The campaign aims to transform the relationship with the national flag from a formal, institutional one to more personal and emotional bond. There was a time in India before 2022 when citizens were forbidden to hoist national flag and it was not considered fair and the rules did not allow citizens of the largest democracy to hoist their national flag on their houses and business establishments. It is so good that from 2022,India has gone full circle and the citizens are free to hoist national flag on their homes and business enterprises and it is a new and positive development which has got positive impact upon the citizens feeling of love and respect to national flag and it also creates personnel connection with the national symbol and also it inculcates the feeling of patriotism, nationalism and awakens citizens to love national unity and integration and work for this noble cause. The campaign has become a people’s movement as the citizens of the country are talking part in Har Ghar Tringa campaign voluntarily and there is no force of pressure of the government to do so. It is so good that there is participation of all most every section of the society in this noble campaign which encourages patriotism and also inculcates the sense of nationalism and love for the country and its national symbols. The campaign also aims the citizens to remember respect & revere freedom fighters who have laid their precious lives for attaining freedom and we should do every thing possible to safeguard the independence. The very idea of national symbols including the national flag creates a sense of belongingness among the citizens and it also results in positive under current of the flame of nationalism and patriotism. Citizens hoist the national flag at top their houses voluntarily and it shows that the citizens love for the national flag and their spirit for burning the flame of nationalism. The core of the campaign is to inspire people to display the Indian flag at their homes, fostering a sense of national pride and belongingness to the nation. The initiative aims to move beyond a formal relationship with the flag and create a personal and emotional connection with the nation. The Har Ghar Tringa campaign seeks to ignite a feeling of patriotism and raise awareness about the Indian flag and its importance. Individuals are participating in hoisting the flag, uploading selfies with the national flag and they also engage in online and offline events. This campaign encourages sharing photos and experiences on social media using the hashtag Har Ghar Tiranga. During the campaign Tringa processions are organised by government departments, private business houses, NGO’s, social, cultural, religious organisations in cities, towns and villages and there is really a patriotic fervour seen everywhere from cities to villages and the atmosphere is surcharged with the national slogans of Bharat Mata ke jai and Hindustan Zindabad and the whole sight is marvellous and soothing to eyes and mind. The Har Ghar Tringa campaign has become an annual tradition, celebrated in the days leading up to India’s independence, day. It is organised by the ministry of Culture. This ministry in collaboration with MyGov ,is the nodal ministry for the campaign. In the campaign, there is much focus on unity and sacrifice. The campaign serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and importance of national unity. Participants are free to uphold selfies with the flag on the official website. MyGov is actively involved in promoting the campaign and providing resources and updates. In 2025, Har Ghar Tringa campaign commenced on August 2 and will culminate on August 15 with the independence, day celebrations. This campaign aims to promote a sense of unity, patriotism, and national pride as well as love for the nation by encouraging every Indian household to proudly hoist the Indian flag. Har Ghar Tringa campaign that started under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tringa home and to hoist it to mark India’s independence. Har Ghar Tringa started on August 2,2025 and will culminate on August 15 on the independence day and during the actual campaign citizens are encouraged to hoist flags in their premises. The ‘’Har Ghar Tringa’’ invites every Indian to bring the Tringa into their homes and proudly hoist it in celebration of our nation’s independence. The Indian national flag bis not just a symbol but a profound representation of our collective pride and unity. Government of India had launched Har Ghar Tringa [HGT] campaign in 2022 under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The objective of the campaign has been to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes and build a personal and emotional connection with the Tiranga. Har Ghar Tringa invites every Indian to bring the Tringa into their homes and proudly hoist it in celebration of our nation’s independence. Historically, our relationship with the national flag has often been formal and distant ,but this campaign seeks to transform it into a deeply personal and heartfelt connection. Har Ghar Tringa initiative strives to ignite a deep sense of patriotism within every citizen and foster a greater understanding of the significance of our national flag. Tiranga rallies are taken out by educational institutions, police, district administration, municipal corporations, forests, health department, collages, universities, private NGO’s et al. The campaign in actual practice is a good sight to see and it arouse in citizens a profound feeling and sense of patriotism,national unity and the burning desire to sacrifice every thing for the sake of protecting freedom and also it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices of freedom fighters. In, brief the campaigns like Har Ghar Tiranga should be encouraged and there should be people’s involvement and participation in it and it will give rise to feeling of patriotism and nastionalism. Long Live Har Ghar Tirnga, Ghar Ghar Tringa and long live India’s independence! Amin.
