Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 27: Mission Olympics Shooting Academy Jammu (MOSAJ) has achieved a landmark recognition by being accredited under the prestigious Khelo India Talent Development Scheme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS) as a Non-Residential Centre for both boys and girls.
This accreditation positions MOSAJ as one of the leading platforms in Jammu & Kashmir dedicated to nurturing young shooting talent and elevating the sports ecosystem of the region.
Founder Patron of the J&K Rifle Association (JKRA) and Former DGP J&K, Sh. Dilbag Singh Ji, extended his warm congratulations, praising the academy's consistent efforts in promoting shooting sports and building a strong base for future champions from the Union Territory.
Speaking on the occasion, President of JKRA, Sh. S.S. Sodhi, congratulated coaches Vishal Mehra and Aman Singh and said:
"This recognition under the Khelo India scheme will unlock new pathways of growth and opportunity for the aspiring shooters of Jammu & Kashmir. It strengthens our resolve to provide world-class training and facilities to our youth. I thank the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the J&K Sports Council, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Hon'ble LG, Chief Minister, Sports Minister, and all supporters of shooting sports in the UT for their constant encouragement and guidance.
The success of young shooters like Aneesha, an International shooter from J&K and a proud member of the Mission Olympics team, stands as a testimony to the talent our UT possesses and the bright future that lies ahead."
Aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji to transform India into a global sporting
powerhouse, this Khelo India accreditation brings a host of benefits, including:
o Upgraded infrastructure and modern shooting equipment.
o Access to expert coaching, sports science, and structured training programmes.
o Greater exposure and participation opportunities at national and international platforms.
To commemorate this achievement, President Sodhi hosted a special tea gathering in honour of Team MOSAJ.
The event was attended by Chairman JKRA Sh. Kuldeep Jamwal, DySP Sharat Chander Singh (General Secretary/CEO JKRA), Treasurer Arun Mansotra, Rajesh Virdhi, and other dignitaries, who joined in extending their best wishes for the academy's bright future.
Team MOSAJ expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, J&K Rifle Association leadership, the J&K Sports Council, Hon'ble Lt. Governor of J&K, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Chief Minister, Sports Minister, and all well-wishers for their constant guidance, blessings, and support. This achievement is not only a recognition of MOSAJ's dedication but also a responsibility to carry forward the dream of building a strong sporting culture in India and producing Olympic champions from Jammu & Kashmir
