BATOTE, Sept 6: A residential house of a tribal Gaddi family suffered massive damage due to a landslide in a small hamlet Haldno in mountainous Ramban district.
Sources informed that the residential house of one Des Raj, son of Late Munshi Ram in village Haldno, Ramban has been damaged by the landslide triggered by the heavy rainfall recently.
They said that the structure suffered total loss and an old lady, Rano Devi, mother of Des Raj, was also injured in the incident.
“All the household items including beds, clothes, utensils etc were destroyed in the house collapse,” they further said adding that the landslide was still active in the area and more houses may be damaged if the authorities concerned fail to take some preventive measures.
The victim family has urged the government authorities and the NGOs for help as they have no roof over their heads are presently living under the open sky with aged persons and small children. |
