Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 16: MLA of Bahu, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today visited Belicharana area and the bank of Nikki Tawi, accompanied by departmental officials and local dignitaries, to assess damage caused by recent events. The visit underscores the MLA's commitment to respond swiftly and properly to civic issues and infrastructure damage in his constituency. The MLA surveyed the damage along the bank of Nikki Tawi, noting erosion and flooding impact on nearby roads, homes and public utilities. He also met with local residents, heard their grievances regarding damaged roads, drainage systems, sanitation, and risk to property due to weakened banks. The MLA instructed the departments to prepare a damage report, to map critical areas, and initiate emergency repair work. He emphasized safety and ensuring residents are not left at risk. Plans to strengthen river/stream banks, improve drainage and flood control measures, and to provide relief assistance to people whose properties have been affected. "I visited Belicharana and Nikki Tawi today to see first hand what the people are going through. The damage is real and cannot wait. We will ensure relief and restoration work is done without delay. Our aim is to secure the safety, infrastructure, and well being of every resident."
