RED DROP in collaboration with F&ES, LD hospital organizes blood donation

Srinagar, Sept 18: In a significant initiative to bolster community health services and emergency preparedness, RED DROP (a unit of dedicated blood donors under the aegis of *KASHMIR CONCERN*) organized a day-long Blood Donation and Medical Camp today at the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) Headquarters in Batmaloo.
The camp was organized in association with the Fire and Emergency Services department and was supported by the Blood Bank of LD Hospital, Srinagar. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the personnel of the Fire and Emergency Services, volunteers, and the general public, who came forward in large numbers to donate blood and participate in the medical check-ups.
The primary objective of the camp was to strengthen the regional blood bank reserves and provide essential health screenings, thereby contributing to saving precious lives. The collaboration marks a crucial step towards fostering synergy between volunteer organizations and government departments for a noble cause.
Chairman of RED DROP, *Dr. Touseef Ahmed*, lauded the efforts of all the partners involved. In his statement, he said, "Collaboration is the need of the hour. In the face of emergencies, a robust network between volunteer groups, medical institutions, and emergency services is paramount. This camp is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for humanity."

The event was also graced by the presence of the President of RED DROP, *Mr. Shabir Hussain*, widely renowned as the 'Blood Man of J&K' for his decades of relentless service in the field of blood donation. His presence inspired both new and regular donors to participate in the cause.
RED DROP is a pioneering volunteer unit operating under the umbrella of *KASHMIR CONCERN,* dedicated to creating a robust and readily available blood donation network. Comprising committed donors and social workers, the group works tirelessly to ensure that no patient suffers due to a shortage of blood.
The medical team from the LD Hospital Blood Bank ensured that all protocols were strictly followed, making the donation process safe, smooth, and efficient for all donors.
